Purpose
Define the safeguarding framework that protects all users, particularly minors, on the eStudent 360 platform.
Principles
- The safety of minors is the absolute highest priority
- All mentors are verified and background-checked before interacting with any student
- Guardian consent is mandatory for all users under 18
- Zero tolerance for abuse, harassment, grooming, or exploitation
Preventive Measures
- Mentor Verification — Government ID + background check + references (see Mentor Registration SOP)
- Guardian Consent — Verified consent from parent/guardian before minor can interact with mentors
- Session Monitoring — Automated keyword and sentiment monitoring of text-based interactions
- Restricted Contact — All communication happens within the platform; sharing personal contact information (phone, email, social media) is prohibited and flagged automatically
- Mandatory Training — All mentors complete safeguarding training before activation and annually thereafter
Reporting Mechanism
- Any user can report a concern via the in-session "Report" button or their profile settings
- Reports are immediately queued for country admin review
- Critical reports (abuse, exploitation, immediate danger) trigger an instant notification to the safeguarding lead
- Accused party's account is suspended pending investigation
Investigation Process
- Country admin reviews report within 24 hours (critical: within 2 hours)
- Evidence gathered: session logs, interaction history, user statements
- Decision: unfounded / warning / temporary suspension / permanent ban
- If criminal activity is suspected, report filed with relevant authorities
- Outcome communicated to reporter and (if appropriate) the reported party
