Content Localisation & Translation

Version 1.0 | Last reviewed: 2026-05-13

Purpose

Define procedures for localising platform content across regions and languages.

Supported Languages

  • English — Primary language for Ghana and English-speaking Canada
  • French — Supported for French-speaking Canada and future West African expansion

Localisation Scope

  • UI Strings — All interface text, buttons, labels, error messages
  • Career Pathways — Fully localised per region (not just translated — adapted to local educational context)
  • Notifications — Email, SMS, and WhatsApp messages in user's preferred language
  • Help & Support — FAQ, guides, and contact information localised per region

Localisation Process

  1. English content created as source
  2. Translation by qualified translator (not machine translation alone)
  3. Cultural review by country admin — ensures examples, references, and terminology are locally appropriate
  4. QA review — check for formatting, truncation, and placeholder issues
  5. Publication — both language versions published simultaneously

Regional Adaptations

Beyond translation, content is adapted for regional context. For example, career pathways reference local institutions, grading systems, and employment markets. WASSCE-focused content is only shown to Ghana-based students; co-op guidance is only shown to Canada-based students.
